A whole Week of Prayer?
How about a whole Month of Prayer?
During
this year’s emphasis on State Missions, we’re praying for Montana Southern
Baptist pastors and their families, students on our state’s
university and
college campuses, church planters in Glacier, Hi-Line, Treasure State,
Yellowstone, Big Sky, and Triangle associations, and Montanans’
participation in disaster relief around the world. Use your prayer guide
and learn how the Baker State Missions Offering is changing lives.

Why is it
called the Baker State Missions Offering?
When
Southern Baptists in the four states of Montana, Wyoming, North and South
Dakota joined to form a convention, Rev. John Baker was called to lead it.
He served from 1968 to 1976, retired, and then was called back in 1984 at
age 73 to serve another short period while the Dakotas and Montana prepared
to divide into sister “fellowships” because of great distances. God used
Bro. Baker and his wife, Clide, in such a marvelous way that is was just
natural to name the annual state missions offering in honor of this example
of selfless giving.
9-1-1...We
have an emergency!
Lack of
funds for emergency situations is a problem for most of us. When a Montana
pastor has an unexpected need, it can become a real burden. Many of our
pastors are bi-vocational and live a great distance from extended family
members. In times of crisis, Montana Baptists are there for our pastors.
We can and do help through our giving to the Baker State Missions Offering
for pastoral emergencies.
Which way
should I go?
College
students live in transition. Discovering their place in the world means
that they must choose from many different paths. Southern Baptists
campus
ministers at Montana Tech, MSU-Bozeman, Yellowstone Baptist College, MSU-Billings,
Rocky Mountain College, the University of Montana, and Carroll College help
students make the right choice—the path that leads to eternal life through
Jesus Christ. The Baker State Missions Offering helps fund evangelistic
events on these campuses.
