Spotlight
on Resources
By: Jessica Crusch
Ministry Assistant – Montana Southern Baptist Convention
Did
you know that the Montana Southern Baptist Convention Office has a
resource library that includes many different Bible Studies, some on DVD
or VHS and some with simply a leader’s guide and student book that you
could do in a Sunday School or weekday Bible Study? Each month we will
be highlighting two of these Bible studies; one for youth and one for
adults. This month our Bible studies highlighted are
Conversation Peace
written by Mary Kassian and
The
Mind of Christ
written by T. W. Hunt & Claude King.
Did
you know that you speak an average of 48,000 words each day? Think of
all the emotions you evoke with just a few simple words and phrases:
love, laughter, joy and encouragement. But your words can also evoke
anger, wrath, sorrow, hurt and devastation. Would you like to break the
cycle of evil words and come to a true understanding of what it takes to
build someone up and keep your words pure?
Conversation Peace: The Power of Transformed Speech
is a six-week women’s in-depth study that helps you improve your
relationships and change negative speech habits through God’s Word and
the transformation of your heart. The leader kit includes 4 VHS tapes
with 7 sessions led by the author Mary Kassian, and a student book with
personal, daily assignments.
Do
your students wonder how they can be more like Christ? We teach and
preach that our students need to be more like Christ in their actions
but how can we expect actions when our minds are far away.
The Mind of Christ
youth edition will lead your students to have the mind of Christ, to be
like Jesus! This is the real reason that God created each of us. Based
on Philippians 2:5-11 this study will challenge your students to think
the thoughts of Christ-to have the mind of Christ. This study includes a
leader book to help you plan lessons and example activities that you can
do with your students and one sample student book.
These two studies are
available at the state office for check-out. If you would like to borrow
one of these studies or have a question about one of the other studies
we offer in the resource library please contact Jessica Crusch at
